It was with great sadness that we learnt of the death of David Cook last week. David was husband to one of our ex committee members Fionnuala Cook OBE. David was frequently one of our willing volunteers at Open Gardens. We extend our deepest sympathy to Fionnuala and the family circle.
Owing to the proposed fundamental change in governance arrangements between the National Trust and the Ulster Gardens Scheme, the Ulster Gardens Scheme committee have, with great reluctance, decided that they are unable to continue to operate the scheme.
Circa 70 people attended the review evening in the Old Court House in Antrim for the Annual Review of the Open Gardens. Following the presentation by Trevor Edwards of images by Committee Member Brian Webb everyone enjoyed a superb supper and conversation.
